Job Title: Maintenance Superintendent

About the Role

We are seeking two Maintenance Superintendents to lead maintenance operations in Converting and Pulping/Utilities. These roles are critical to driving maintenance excellence, ensuring reliability, and supporting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of up to 40 skilled maintenance professionals.
  • Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize equipment efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure seamless production.
  • Manage outage planning and turnaround projects.
  • Drive a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with all safety standards.
  • Manage budgets, mentor team members, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Proven experience in maintenance leadership within industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
    • Converting: Paper, corrugated, packaging, plastics, food & beverage, bottling.
    • Pulping: Raw material preparation, pulping, washing/screening, bleaching, fiber processing.
    • Utilities: Chemical recovery, wastewater treatment, steam/power generation, compressed air systems, cooling systems, biorefining.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and manage complex projects.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience with predictive maintenance technologies and reliability-centered maintenance.
  • Familiarity with budget management and cost optimization strategies.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
