Our client who's a global retail group within lifestyle luxury goods. They are representing a portfolio of iconic international brands across prestige, premium, and lifestyle segments including personal care, cosmetics and fragrances. As part of their continued growth in Asia Pacific, they are seeking an experienced Managing Director to lead their Taiwan business.
This role carries full P&L responsibility and end‑to‑end leadership of the Taiwan organization. The successful candidate will drive sustainable growth, strengthen omnichannel retail execution, and elevate Taiwan's strategic role within the regional business, while partnering closely with global brand principals.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Financial Leadership
- Hold full P&L ownership for Taiwan, driving top-line growth, profitability, and cash flow
- Strengthen financial discipline, including forecasting accuracy, inventory governance, margin management, and working capital optimization
- Translate global and regional strategies into effective local execution, ensuring alignment with brand standards and commercial objectives
Retail, Omnichannel & E-commerce
- Lead integrated omnichannel retail strategy across department stores, specialty retail, mono-brand boutiques, and e-commerce
- Accelerate digital and e-commerce capabilities as a strategic growth engine within the retail ecosystem
- Optimize store productivity, consumer experience, and omnichannel synergies to maximize lifetime value
Brand & Portfolio Management
- Drive brand development, market expansion, and launch excellence across a diverse beauty and fragrances portfolio
- Partner closely with global brand owners and principals to ensure strong alignment on strategy, brand equity, and long-term growth priorities
- Lead impactful marketing initiatives, consumer activations, and retail storytelling to strengthen market presence
Organization & Leadership
- Lead and develop cross-functional teams across retail operations, sales, marketing, e-commerce, supply chain, finance, and HR
- Drive organizational transformation to enhance agility, accountability, and collaboration
- Build strong leadership pipelines, succession plans, and a high-performance, people-first culture
Operations, Governance & Compliance
- Oversee operational excellence across supply chain, logistics, and retail operations
- Ensure robust governance, controls, and compliance with corporate, legal, and regulatory requirements
- Manage risk while enabling scalable and sustainable growth
Job Requirements
- 10-15+ years of leadership experience in any of beauty, fragrances, luxury, or global luxury fashion retails
- Proven experience as a leader with full P&L accountability for general management including retails, B2B and digital, supply chain, sales & marketing, product & buying as well as HR & Finance and operations
- Experience managing multi-brand portfolios and complex stakeholder environments
- Demonstrated success leading large, cross-functional teams and driving change
- Strategic mindset with hands-on execution capability
- Fluent in Mandarin and English speaking
- Deep understanding of the Taiwan retail and consumer landscape preferred
- Local citizens are considered as preference
