We are excited to share an opening for a Master Scheduler with our client, a leading organization in the marine and shipbuilding industry based in Houma, Louisiana, United States. This permanent position offers a unique opportunity to be a key player in coordinating and managing complex ship construction and conversion projects. You'll work closely with our client's estimators, project managers, engineering, and production teams to ensure projects are executed seamlessly and stay on schedule and budget.
Responsibilities
- Develop project milestone schedules and an integrated master schedule for operations.
- Analyze and collect information to create detailed planning for ship construction and conversions.
- Identify risks, manage issues, and create issue mitigation plans with project teams.
- Support cross-departmental integration and resource allocation.
- Maintain up-to-date and resource-loaded schedules, including material and subcontract work.
- Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and engineers for holistic planning.
- Incorporate modern project management tools to enhance process improvement efforts.
Skills Required for Success
- Scheduling and Planning Expertise: Minimum of 5 years' experience in professional scheduling/planning, with at least 5 years in marine or shipbuilding environments.
- Technical Understanding: Ability to read and comprehend ship drawings with strong intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Organizational Skills: Highly detail-oriented with the ability to oversee and prioritize multiple projects.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with solid interpersonal capabilities to discuss technical subjects effectively.
- Process Knowledge: Familiarity with Material Requirements Planning (MRP), manufacturing workflows, and project metrics development.
