Mechanical Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This role reports to the Maintenance Manager and requires a proactive individual with strong mechanical expertise and leadership capabilities. The ideal candidate will excel in designing, analyzing, and improving mechanical processes within an industrial production environment, while promoting preventive maintenance and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership aligned with core values such as safety, integrity, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Act as a safety advocate, ensuring compliance with site safety plans and fostering a zero-injury workplace.
• Maintain a clean and safe production environment in collaboration with team members.
• Support management of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure accurate and reliable data.
• Develop and maintain preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
• Implement and manage Root Cause Analysis programs for production and maintenance issues.
• Prepare reports, KPIs, and presentations to track reliability and maintenance performance.
• Drive improvements in work practices and equipment documentation to enhance productivity.
• Analyze and resolve mechanical issues through design modifications and process improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement optimal solutions.
• Contribute to maintenance budget planning and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and reliability technologies.
• Lead capital improvement projects and assist in maintaining equipment bills of materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including occasional extended hours and weekend work.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Maintenance Engineering (other engineering disciplines considered with relevant experience).
• Minimum of 5 years of mechanical engineering experience in industrial or manufacturing environments; experience in food processing or similar industries preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and automation controls.
• Proven experience in equipment reliability and preventive/predictive maintenance techniques.
• Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma and Root Cause Analysis.
• Proficiency in failure analysis, material selection, and maintenance system optimization.
• Experience managing improvement projects and using design tools (AutoCAD, ProE, etc.).
• Competence with mathematical and analytical tools (MATLAB, Excel, Power BI, Python, etc.).
• Knowledge of CAE/CAM tools and engineering analysis software.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively across all organizational levels.
• Demonstrated success in improving safety, productivity, and quality.
• Strong computer skills; experience with SAP-HANA and CMMS preferred.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
