Merchandise Planning Manager
As the Merchandise Planning Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing merchandise plans that drive sales, margin, and inventory productivity. You will partner closely with buying, allocation, and supply chain teams to ensure the right product is in the right place at the right time. This is a highly visible role with direct impact on financial performance and strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop pre-season merchandise financial plans by category, class, and key item.
Monitor and re-forecast in-season performance, recommending inventory and pricing actions as needed.
Partner with buying teams to create assortment strategies aligned with company goals.
Drive open-to-buy strategies and maintain accurate inventory levels.
Lead weekly, monthly, and seasonal planning reviews with senior leadership.
Analyze sales trends and provide actionable insights to optimize product performance.
Support new product launches, promotions, and seasonal planning cycles.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in merchandise planning, inventory management, or financial planning, preferably in a retail or consumer goods environment.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel and planning software (e.g., JDA, Oracle, SAP, or similar).
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Merchandising, or a related field.
