Operations Manager (Maintenance)
Location: Primarily Antwerp, with oversight of Rijkevorsel
Languages: English & Dutch required
Travel: Frequent travel between sites (mainly Antwerp & Rijkevorsel)

We're reshaping our maintenance leadership model in Belgium, inspired by successful approaches in the Netherlands and UK. We're now seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee two key sites across Belgium. This role will focus heavily on Antwerp (approx. 80% of your time), with additional responsibilities in Rijkevorsel and occasional involvement in other locations.
🔧 Your Mission:
As Maintenance Manager, you'll be the driving force behind:
- Capex Project Management
- 24+ projects in Rijkevorsel, 90+ in Antwerp
- High volume, varied complexity - not always high value, but always high impact
- Deferred Maintenance & Safety Compliance
- Ensure legal and Lineage standards are met
- Opex Oversight
- Preventive and corrective maintenance, currently via external contractors
- Long-term vision may include building an internal technician team
🧭 Reporting Lines:
- Administrative: General Manager, Antwerp
- Technical (Maintenance & Capex): Regional Engineering Manager, Spain
🤝 Key Stakeholders:
- Site General Managers
- Finance
- Engineering
🛠️ What You'll Do Daily:
- Be present on-site - this is not a desk job
- Coordinate with contractors and internal teams
- Occasionally hands-on, but primarily strategic and supervisory
- Escalate issues confidently and manage uncertainty with clarity
👤 Your Profile:
- Must-have:
- Industrial refrigeration knowledge
- Strong industrial and mechanical engineering background
- Fluent in English and Dutch
- Nice-to-have:
- Electrical engineering experience
- People management skills
- Resilience and adaptability in a dynamic environment
