Operations Manager
One of our clients in the Chemical Manufacturing industry is seeking an Operations Manager to support one of their facilities in the greater San Francisco Bay area. This person will be a pivotal part of the leadership team and assist with the growth and expansion of the organization.
Location: Great San Francisco Bay Area
Compensation: $160,000-185,000
Onsite: 9/80 Schedule
Responsibilities:
- Ensure Operational Safety & Compliance: Monitor assigned plant areas for safety and production risks; audit work permits, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and safety checklists to ensure compliance with procedures and standards.
- Maintenance Oversight: Issue and track work requests, verify maintenance is performed correctly, and log activities and equipment issues in the K2 database.
- Support Operator Development: Collaborate with operators to enhance their technical knowledge and skills; assign tasks related to outages, housekeeping, and procedure adherence.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in operations, assist in updating procedures, and support troubleshooting of plant processes.
- Promote Safety Culture & Team Engagement: Actively participate in EH&S programs, safety council meetings, and RCIs; provide coaching and foster a positive work environment.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in Chlor-Alkali or Hydrogen operations (MUST)
- Willingly shares operational experience and mentors others in problem-solving.
- Demonstrates high personal standards, including safe work behaviors and coaching ability.
- Communicates professionally and adapts explanations to suit different audiences; fluent in English.
- Collaborates effectively in self-directed team environments.
- Maintenance and Lab experience is a plus
- Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, & Outlook
