Plant Manager
A confidential food manufacturing organization is seeking a seasoned Plant Manager to provide strategic and hands-on leadership for a high-volume production facility. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant operations across multiple shifts, driving operational excellence while maintaining the highest standards of safety, food quality, and employee engagement.
The Plant Manager leads a cross-functional leadership team spanning Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality/Food Safety, Sanitation, Logistics, HR, and Finance. This individual owns key performance indicators related to safety, quality, cost, service, productivity, yield, and workforce development, and is accountable for delivering results that align with broader organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide full operational leadership for manufacturing, maintenance, quality, sanitation, and engineering functions
- Develop and execute short- and long-term operational strategies
- Champion a safety-first culture with strong regulatory compliance (OSHA, FDA/USDA, HACCP, GMPs)
- Ensure audit readiness and adherence to food safety standards at all times
- Lead, coach, and develop management and supervisory teams
- Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste
- Manage operating budgets, control costs, and support capital project execution
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering, Food Science, Business, or related discipline
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in food or CPG manufacturing, including plant-level leadership
- Strong working knowledge of food safety regulations and third-party audits
- Proven track record of safety leadership, KPI ownership, and people development
- Experience leading multi-shift or 24/7 operations preferred
- Lean or Six Sigma certification strongly preferred
