Procurement Director
On behalf of a European tier-1 automotive manufacturer, we are looking for a:
Purchasing Director
Location: Jiangsu Province, China
Report to: China CEO
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the consolidation of BOM, Capex, and MRO purchasing into a unified procurement department.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with global restructuring goals.
- Drive cultural and operational change across the procurement function, fostering initiative and accountability.
- Manage procurement activities across five plants in China.
- Oversee a team of ~10 direct report covering direct materials, indirect procurement, and other core supply chain functions.
- Ensure cost-effective sourcing strategies for materials, logistics, and warehousing.
- Collaborate closely with the C-Suite to align procurement with business objectives
- Establish KPIs and performance metrics for procurement and other SC function teams.
- Ensure compliance with global procurement standards and local regulations.
- Optimize supplier relationships and contract negotiations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing sectors overseeing significant budgets (RMB 500m+).
- Proven success in leading procurement transformation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of BOM/materials purchasing, Capex, and MRO and experience having led other supply chain functions.
- Experience managing multi-site operations and cross-functional teams.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin.
