The Role
We are supporting an established organisation operating within the industrial engineering and technical services sector in the appointment of a Procurement Specialist. This is a hands‑on, operational procurement role focused on supporting ongoing project and MRO requirements in a fast‑paced, engineering-led environment.
The position sits close to operations and engineering teams, with responsibility for day‑to‑day purchasing activities, supplier coordination, and ensuring continuity of supply for technical components and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute operational procurement activities across direct and indirect materials, services, and spare parts.
- Manage purchase requisitions, purchase orders, order confirmations, and delivery tracking.
- Support engineering, project, and maintenance teams with timely sourcing of technical goods and services.
- Maintain supplier master data, pricing, and contracts within the ERP system.
- Request and compare quotations, negotiate pricing within defined frameworks, and place orders accordingly.
- Follow up on deliveries, handle discrepancies, and resolve invoice and quality issues with suppliers.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with internal processes, technical specifications, and cost controls.
- Support supplier performance reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in an operational or tactical procurement role within an industrial, engineering, maritime, or technical services environment.
- Comfortable procuring technical components, spare parts, and services (MRO exposure highly advantageous).
- Strong understanding of end‑to‑end P2P processes.
- Confident working closely with engineering and operational stakeholders.
- Detail‑oriented, structured, and able to manage multiple orders and priorities simultaneously.
- Experience working with ERP systems (e.g. SAP or similar).
- Fluency in German and English required.
