Product Engineer
Job Summary
A global leader in infrastructure and construction technology is seeking a Product Engineer to support the design, development, and optimization of product lines. This hands-on role serves as a critical link between product engineering, quality assurance, and production, ensuring that products are manufactured efficiently, meet high standards of quality, and remain cost-effective. The position is ideal for candidates with strong expertise in steel materials and manufacturing processes, and a collaborative mindset suited to fast-paced environments.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and optimize new and existing products.
- Provide engineering support to production teams to resolve issues and enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, quality, purchasing, operations, and vendors.
- Evaluate product designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
- Analyze production data and recommend improvements in productivity, quality, and safety.
- Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for product or process non-conformities.
- Create and maintain documentation such as work instructions, process flows, and product specifications.
- Manage product databases, create part numbers, and maintain entries in ERP systems (Navision).
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- 4-6 years of experience in a product engineering role, preferably within construction materials or heavy industry.
- Strong knowledge of steel materials and sourcing.
- Familiarity with ASME, ASTM, AISC codes and their practical applications.
- Expertise in designing steel components such as hex nuts, couplers, turnbuckles, clevises, bearing plates, and welded assemblies.
- PE license in any U.S. state is preferred.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis for product validation.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems (Navision) and production planning tools.
