Production Manager
The Production Manager provides leadership and oversight for manufacturing and operations, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are met. This role is responsible for managing employee performance, optimizing production processes, and driving continuous improvement across prepress, printing, and finishing activities. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Manager plays a key role in maintaining compliance, developing teams, and ensuring operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead safety initiatives and ensure compliance with OSHA, and food safety regulations including GMP, HACCP, and SQF.
- Oversee daily production operations, including color management systems, ink management, plate mounting, and prepress activities.
- Ensure product quality through accurate and timely quality checks; lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality complaints.
- Manage production schedules, staffing, and changeovers to meet department goals while minimizing labor costs.
- Maintain and audit inventory of printing components including anilox rolls, sleeves, and sticky back materials.
- Review and report daily production results; reconcile operator counts with warehouse data and ensure reporting accuracy.
- Coach and develop employees to close performance gaps; lead training initiatives and provide feedback and discipline as needed.
- Maintain equipment through preventive maintenance checklists and ensure readiness for production.
- Foster a positive work environment and lead continuous improvement efforts in safety, quality, and productivity.
- Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and support cross-functional collaboration.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of safe manufacturing practices, lean principles, and printing processes.
- Experience with ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to motivate teams, manage change, and drive performance improvements.
- Skilled in documentation, production tracking, and vendor relationship management.
- Ability to prioritize, adapt to change, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
