Production Planning Manager (CS and Logistics)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Supply Chain & Production Planning Manager to lead the end-to-end coordination of production, logistics, customer service, and sales in a fast-paced, continuously operating chemical manufacturing environment. This role will focus on optimizing production planning, inventory management, and fulfillment processes while ensuring seamless communication across all functional areas. The ideal candidate will have extensive leadership experience and a proven track record in chemical or commodity manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the key liaison between Production, Logistics, Customer Service, and Sales to ensure seamless daily operations and communication.
- Oversee and sign off on all production planning activities on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis-optimizing output, minimizing waste, and adjusting for market conditions.
- Manage inventory levels of both finished goods and raw materials to balance customer demand, storage limitations, and cash flow.
- Align transportation cost efficiency with customer service expectations by negotiating and reviewing shipping and storage costs.
- Support and execute the development of the annual production and sales budget in collaboration with sales and production teams.
- Participate in long-term strategic planning for sales and production forecasts.
- Track daily order fulfillment activities, including confirmations, logistics scheduling, billing, and sales support.
- Monitor and report monthly KPIs; lead short-term and long-term continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team by fostering accountability, customer focus, and operational excellence.
- Drive cross-functional alignment across departments to ensure cohesive execution of organizational objectives.
- Utilize ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365) to manage and improve order creation, goods receipt, and production planning processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Accounting, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience leading cross-functional teams with a focus on:
- Production Planning
- Customer and Order Fulfillment
- Logistics
- Strong experience in chemical manufacturing or commodity chemicals, particularly within a continuous production environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar ERP systems is highly desirable.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with strong time management and leadership capabilities.
