Purchasing Manager

We are supporting an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction firm in the search for a Purchasing Manager to lead procurement operations, and ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials and services. This role oversees purchasing, shipping, receiving, and inventory management processes to support project execution and business goals. The ideal candidate will implement strategic sourcing practices, streamline supply chain operations, and collaborate cross-functionally to meet organizational needs.


Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Sourcing

  • Manage the full procurement cycle: sourcing, bidding, negotiating, contracting, and purchasing.
  • Select and maintain vendor relationships that meet quality, cost, and delivery standards.
  • Research and recommend new products and programs to support innovation and efficiency.
  • Identify cost-saving alternatives and product substitutions.

Contract Management

  • Draft and review purchase agreements; collaborate with legal on contract terms.
  • Ensure accuracy in product specifications, pricing, quantities, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
  • Administer contracts throughout their lifecycle, including revisions and issue resolution.

Planning & Coordination

  • Provide cost data and analysis for budgeting, scheduling, and planning.
  • Coordinate material delivery schedules with project teams to ensure timely site delivery.
  • Track and update estimated delivery dates for all open purchase orders.
  • Review supplier schedules and expedite orders as needed.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Work closely with Project Management and Construction teams to align purchases with project specifications.
  • Resolve vendor invoice discrepancies and manage returns or replacements.
  • Maintain consistent communication with suppliers, stakeholders, and internal teams.

Process Improvement

  • Develop and refine procurement policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Development, Construction, and Finance teams to improve workflows.
  • Implement supply chain best practices, including JIT and MRP methodologies.

Required Qualifications

Education & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a purchasing or procurement role in a Construction/Renewable Energy environment.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial solar and electrical systems is a plus.
  • Proficient in Procore and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
