Seeks an experienced Quality Professional, inspector, or manufacturing office manager for the position Quality Assurance Specialist This position is located in Moorpark, CA.
The Quality Assurance Specialist will support a team of Quality Engineers in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The primary responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Administrative Technician will be coordination, review, and approval of quality documentation.
Responsibilities: The Quality Assurance Inspector provides effective verification that manufactured product and associated processes are compliant to defined requirements.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Generate First Article Inspection Reports (FAI/FAIR), with QE input and oversight.
- Monitor progress of Shop Orders in IFS ERP system to ensure documentation errors are caught and corrected in a timely manner.
- Review manufacturing build records and inspection reports to ensure records are complete and correct.
- Create and appropriately redact quality record packages for customers, including: EIDP (End Item Data Package), and other pre-shipment paperwork.
- Generate and sign Certificates of Conformance
- Generate quality pareto graphs for monthly value stream management review.
- As part of our Continuous Improvement culture, develop processes to better manage our build records, and automate mistake-proofing where practical
- Under the guidance of the QE, revise Inspection Plans and other manufacturing instructions
- Participate in internal and customer quality system and safety audits
Requirements:
- High School or equivalent G.E.D. required. An ideal candidate would have an Associates or Bachelors degree in engineering technology, manufacturing or business.
- 3--5 years of experience as an inspector or quality professional in an aerospace, defense or medical environment.
- Experience in a production/manufacturing team environment
- Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel graphs, calculations and conditional formatting; Word revision tracking; ideally some familiarity with Microsoft Project
- Good electronic organization / file structure navigation skills, general computer savviness
- Ability to read and interpret technical product drawings
- Experience with quality documentation
- Knowledge of a Quality Management System, including configuration management and document control
- Experience reviewing and revising documentation
- Willingness to work on a manufacturing shop floor (steel toed shoes and safety glasses) as needed
- Ability to lift 20 lbs
Preferred Skills:
- Experience generating First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR)
- Experience with an ERP system
- Familiar with an AS9100/ISO9000 environment
- Working knowledge of attribute and variable inspection tools/methods
- Familiarity with inspection methods, or prior inspection experience
Soft Skills:
- As this role may include interaction with customer quality representatives, the ability to communicate effectively and professionally is essential
- Attention to detail, ability to remain focused during complex document reviews
- Self-starter who manages time to accomplish assigned tasks and can accurately forecast time to completion
- Ability to 'juggle multiple tasks' and adapt to changes in priority, when given adequate support/direction from leadership
- An ethical and responsible person who strives to meet delivery commitments without compromising quality
Compensation: Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 per year. Salary is determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
