Quality Engineer
We're seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to lead quality initiatives across production processes. In this role, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams-design engineering, operations, and supply chain-to ensure compliance, optimize processes, and deliver exceptional product quality. You'll also play a key role in problem-solving, implementing best practices, and supporting new product introductions.
This is an on-site position based in the greater Omaha.NE area, with up to 50% travel.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement quality processes and documentation.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues.
- Serve as a liaison between QA, operations, and engineering teams.
- Drive continuous improvement using Six Sigma and LEAN principles.
- Define quality processes for new product launches.
- Interface with customers and auditing agencies to resolve nonconformance.
- Establish and monitor quality metrics to meet operational goals.
- Occasionally perform fieldwork, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working in varying conditions.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, OR equivalent experience.
- Background in quality assurance/control within manufacturing.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
- Strong knowledge of statistical methods (SPC, capability analysis, sampling plans).
- Proficiency with MiniTab or similar tools.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering prints and specifications.
- Excellent communication and project leadership skills.
- Comfortable working autonomously and managing multiple priorities.
Preferred Experience
- Industrial or Mechanical Engineering degree.
- Metals manufacturing experience, including structural welding.
- Familiarity with AISC, ISO, and DOT standards.
- Six Sigma Black Belt or higher.
- NDT experience (VT, MT, UT).
