Quality Engineer

Position Summary:
Our client, a leading manufacturer in the printed circuit board (PCB) industry, is seeking a Quality Engineer to support and drive quality initiatives across their manufacturing operations. This role will focus on ensuring product quality, improving processes, and maintaining compliance with industry and customer standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards and procedures for PCB manufacturing processes (e.g., fabrication, assembly, plating, etching)
  • Lead root cause analysis efforts (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for internal and customer-reported issues
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and statistical methods
  • Monitor key quality metrics (yield, scrap, customer complaints) and drive improvements
  • Partner cross-functionally with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality concerns
  • Conduct internal audits and support external/customer audits
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and industry-specific requirements
  • Assist in new product introduction (NPI) by validating quality processes and controls
  • Analyze process capability and implement process controls (SPC)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
  • 3+ years of experience in a quality engineering role within electronics or PCB manufacturing preferred
  • Familiarity with PCB manufacturing processes strongly preferred
  • Experience with quality tools (8D, FMEA, control plans, SPC)
  • Knowledge of IPC standards (IPC-A-600, IPC-6012, IPC-A-610) is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar certification
  • Experience working in high-mix, low-to-medium volume manufacturing environments
  • Exposure to customer-facing quality interactions
