Quality Manager

Job Summary:
The Quality Manager leads the development, implementation, and oversight of quality systems and standards across manufacturing operations. This role ensures compliance with industry regulations, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and manages a team of quality professionals to maintain product integrity and customer satisfaction in a heavy industrial equipment environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the quality management system (QMS), including audits, documentation, and compliance.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for internal and external quality issues.
  • Manage quality assurance and control teams, providing training, guidance, and performance oversight.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to ensure quality standards are met throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Interface with customers and regulatory bodies regarding quality concerns, certifications, and inspections.
  • Monitor and report on key quality metrics, driving initiatives for process improvement and defect reduction.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ASME, API, ANSI) and customer specifications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CQE, Six Sigma) preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in quality management within heavy manufacturing or industrial equipment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, SPC, 8D, Lean Six Sigma).
  • Familiarity with welding standards, machining, and fabrication processes.
