Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Refinery Operator to join our operations team at our oil refinery in Georgia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring and controlling refinery processes, ensuring optimal performance, and maintaining compliance with safety and environmental regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor equipment such as pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and distillation units.
  • Adjust controls to regulate flow rates, temperatures, pressures, and chemical reactions.
  • Conduct routine inspections and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
  • Record and interpret data from control panels and instrumentation systems.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
  • Respond to emergency situations and assist in shutdown/startup procedures.
  • Maintain accurate logs and reports of operations and incidents.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in process technology preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in refinery or chemical plant operations.
  • Strong understanding of process control systems and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to safety and environmental compliance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders/stairs.
  • Comfortable working around high-temperature equipment and hazardous materials.
