Regional Sourcing and Procurement Manager - Consumer Electronics

A leading international consumer electronics company is seeking an experienced Regional Sourcing & Procurement Manager to lead strategic procurement and supplier management activities across China and Southeast Asia.
This is a highly visible role responsible for developing regional sourcing strategies, driving cost optimisation initiatives, strengthening supplier partnerships, and ensuring supply continuity across a diverse portfolio of electronic components, mechanical parts, and finished products. The successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams to support business growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies across key spend categories including electronic components, PCBA, mechanical parts, plastics, metals, packaging, and finished goods.
- Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives through supplier negotiations, value engineering, localisation, and supply base optimisation.
- Lead regional sourcing projects to support new product introductions and business expansion across Asia.
- Conduct spend analysis, market intelligence research, and supplier benchmarking to identify procurement opportunities.
Supplier Management
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers across China and Southeast Asia.
- Lead supplier selection, qualification, RFQ/RFP processes, commercial negotiations, and contract management activities.
- Conduct regular business reviews with key suppliers to drive continuous improvement in cost, quality, delivery, innovation, and service.
- Monitor supplier performance and develop risk mitigation strategies to ensure supply continuity.
Procurement Operations & Cost Management
- Manage regional procurement activities and support annual budgeting and cost planning processes.
- Drive supplier consolidation and category optimization initiatives to maximize leverage and improve purchasing efficiency.
- Analyze commodity markets, component trends, and cost drivers to proactively manage procurement risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support inventory optimisation and lead-time reduction programs.
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner closely with Manufacturing, Supply Planning, Engineering, Quality, and Product teams across Asia.
- Influence sourcing decisions through data-driven analysis and strategic recommendations.
- Support the development of procurement best practices, processes, and governance standards across the region.
- Mentor and guide sourcing professionals where applicable.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Business, or related discipline.
- 8+ years of strategic sourcing, procurement, or commodity management experience within consumer electronics, electronic manufacturing, smart devices, IoT, or related industries.
- Strong experience sourcing electronic components and managing supplier networks in China and Southeast Asia.
- Demonstrated success in leading supplier negotiations, cost reduction programs, and procurement transformation initiatives.
- Solid understanding of global supply chain dynamics, commodity management, and supplier development.
- Experience managing annual procurement spend of significant scale.
- Strong analytical, commercial, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English; Chinese language capabilities are advantageous.
- Fluency of Mandarin Chinese and English is required.
