Senior Manager, Procurement

About the Role

We are supporting an IPP in their search for a Manager/Senior Manager of Strategic Procurement to join their team. The title will be commensurate with experience.

This is a high-impact role that offers the opportunity to shape the procurement strategy for a growing portfolio of renewable energy assets. You'll work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to ensure the successful sourcing of key services and capital equipment for solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects.

If you're a strategic thinker with deep procurement expertise, a passion for renewable energy, and a collaborative mindset, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

As a Strategic Procurement Manager/Senior Manager, you will:

  • Lead procurement strategy for major equipment and services across the renewable energy portfolio, including PV modules, inverters, transformers, and BESS components.
  • Negotiate and manage supply agreements, ensuring favorable commercial terms, risk mitigation, and alignment with project timelines.
  • Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships, fostering long-term partnerships and driving continuous improvement.
  • Conduct international market research to identify emerging trends, supply chain risks, and regulatory considerations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with development, finance, legal, and construction teams to align procurement activities with broader project goals.
  • Drive process improvements and implement best practices in procurement planning, contract management, and supplier performance tracking.
  • Support project execution by ensuring timely delivery of equipment and services, resolving supply chain issues, and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications

We're looking for candidates who bring a mix of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and collaborative energy:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in strategic procurement, ideally within the renewable energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Proven experience in PV and BESS procurement, with a strong understanding of equipment specifications, market dynamics, and vendor ecosystems.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with project management methodologies (PMP certification or Lean Six Sigma training is a plus).
  • Familiarity with financial modeling, contract law, or economic analysis is advantageous.
