Senior Procurement Manager

An organization experiencing rapid growth is seeking a Senior Procurement Manager to develop and execute effective procurement strategies. This role is responsible for driving cost control initiatives, strengthening vendor management, delivering measurable cost savings, and improving sourcing effectiveness and operational efficiency. The Senior Procurement Manager will partner closely with cross‑functional stakeholders, provide insights to senior leadership, standardize procurement methodologies, and continuously assess and improve procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead purchasing activities for services, capital expenditures, and materials.
  • Form, lead, and facilitate cross‑functional teams to execute procurement strategies and plans.
  • Manage daily purchasing activities, including price negotiations, contract execution, order placement, and on‑time delivery performance.
  • Resolve significant supplier issues related to delivery delays, pricing, and quality.
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance, maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, and continuously optimize the supplier base to support business needs.
  • Develop, document, and improve purchasing processes, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Implement procurement control policies, including guidelines and training materials for internal stakeholders.
  • Coach, develop, and motivate team members to ensure high performance and engagement.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, operations, or supply chain, preferably within a regulated or scientific environment.
  • Strong expertise with purchasing systems (e.g., SAP or Source‑to‑Pay platforms); experience implementing an S2P system is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project.
  • Excellent organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability with a high level of accountability, self‑discipline, and motivation.
  • Experience in the life sciences industry
