Senior Staff Engineer

Position Summary

A leading industrial manufacturing company is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to provide technical leadership and project execution support across multiple operating facilities. This role will lead capital improvement, equipment upgrade, and maintenance projects from concept through implementation while supporting operational excellence, safety, reliability, and cost improvement initiatives.

This position is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys managing complex projects, collaborating with plant leadership, and delivering practical solutions in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and engineering support across multiple manufacturing facilities.
  • Lead capital and maintenance projects from planning and design through startup and project closeout.
  • Develop engineering scopes, specifications, drawings, and supporting documentation.
  • Evaluate operational challenges and recommend effective engineering solutions.
  • Coordinate activities with contractors, vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and engineering standards throughout all project phases.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, resources, and implementation activities.
  • Support troubleshooting, equipment reliability, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare technical reports, analyses, and presentations for management and project teams.
  • Drive projects to completion while maintaining quality, budget, and timeline objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience within industrial manufacturing, process industries, heavy manufacturing, or design engineering environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing capital projects and plant improvement initiatives.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively work with contractors, engineering firms, utility providers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the United States (up to 80%).
