Senior Supply Planning Manager

A leading building materials distribution company is seeking a Senior Supply Planning Manager to oversee supply planning operations and ensure optimal inventory levels across a hub-and-spoke distribution network. This role is critical to achieving high service levels, reducing stockouts, and driving process improvements in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Goal Alignment

  • Develop strategic plans to ensure portfolio reliability and long-term service improvement.
  • Produce weekly supply plans based on the latest consensus demand forecast for all active SKUs.
  • Lead standardized planning processes, including Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP/SIOP) and Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE).
  • Drive scalable business processes and reporting to improve fill rates, reduce stockouts, and optimize inventory.

Operational Leadership

  • Manage a team of supply planners and provide leadership across people, systems, and processes.
  • Oversee complex product portfolios, including promotional volumes, seasonal demand, and multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Review and resolve tactical inventory rebalancing between distribution centers.
  • Lead special projects related to product launches, line extensions, and supply chain initiatives.

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Provide functional and technical support for ERP planning systems (SAP APO, SAP IBP, Blue Yonder/JDA).
  • Contribute to ERP-based planning process development and ensure effective utilization.
  • Maintain accurate master data elements (lead times, stocking targets, order quantities) in planning systems.
  • Monitor supplier performance and provide actionable feedback to sourcing teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • APICS or similar certifications (CPIM, CSCP) strongly preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in supply planning within large-scale operations.
  • Proficiency with Tier-1 ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced planning tools.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
