Senior Technical Engineer - Industrial Mechanical Systems
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Engineer - Industrial Mechanical Systems to lead and optimize the product development lifecycle for industrial devices. This role is pivotal in driving New Product Development (NPD), ensuring robust process design, and managing supplier quality engineering with a focus on China-based manufacturing partners. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise, strong project management capabilities, and a proactive approach to cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Development & Process Engineering
- Lead process engineering activities from design concept through prototyping, validation, and mass production.
- Collaborate with R&D, design, and manufacturing teams to ensure manufacturability and scalability of new products.
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, including assembly, testing, and packaging for mechanical systems.
New Product Development (NPD)
- Drive NPD initiatives by establishing process requirements, timelines, and quality benchmarks.
- Conduct design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) reviews.
- Support D-FMEA and P-FMEA activities to identify and mitigate risks early in the development cycle.
Supplier Quality Engineering
- Manage supplier qualification, audits, and performance evaluations, with a focus on China-based manufacturers.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes for supplier-related quality issues.
- Develop and implement incoming inspection criteria and supplier quality control plans.
Project & Risk Management
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution.
- Identify process risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure smooth product launches.
- Monitor KPIs related to cost, quality, and delivery, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in process engineering, product development, or supplier quality in industrial or mechanical systems.
- Proven experience working with China-based manufacturers, including supplier development and quality assurance.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, injection molding, stamping, and assembly.
- Familiarity with ISO standards, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and FMEA methodologies.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
- Experience with ERP and PLM systems is an asset
- Only HK residents would be considered
- Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese is a must
