Senior Utilities Engineer
Overview:
The Senior Production and Utilities Engineer is responsible for ensuring efficient, safe, and reliable operation of production processes and utility systems within a chemical manufacturing facility. This role combines technical expertise with leadership to optimize plant performance, drive continuous improvement, and maintain compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of production units and utility systems (steam, water, compressed air, refrigeration, etc.).
- Develop and implement strategies to improve process efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and minimize downtime.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for equipment and process issues.
- Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and EHS teams to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Manage capital projects related to utilities and process improvements.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and operators.
- Monitor KPIs and prepare reports on production and utility performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing or process industries.
- Strong knowledge of utility systems and process engineering principles.
- Proven track record in project management and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
