Sourcing Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a Sourcing Engineer to play a critical role in shaping the future of the medical/surgical product portfolio. This role focuses on partnering with suppliers, engineering teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet technical, quality, and business objectives. You will be involved throughout the product lifecycle, from early design stages to product launch, ensuring sourcing strategies align with engineering specifications and manufacturing capabilities.
What You'll Do
- Drive supplier development and negotiations, leveraging knowledge of manufacturing processes and commodity strategies
- Identify and qualify new or alternative suppliers to mitigate risk and strengthen supply resilience
- Work with engineering teams to understand design requirements and BOMs, ensuring sourcing strategies align with technical specifications.
- Perform supplier evaluations, qualifications, and ongoing performance reviews
- Partner with sourcing and quality teams to ensure components and assemblies meet stringent standards
- Manage sourcing projects including market research, RFIs/RFPs, contract negotiations, and implementation
- Monitor and improve key metrics such as supply risk, quality, cost, and lead time
- Build strong relationships across global teams and suppliers to achieve timeline, financial, and operational goals
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Required)
- 3+ years of experience in sourcing and supplier development
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across functions and time zones
- Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally
- Familiarity with validation processes (IQ, OQ, PQ) is a plus
