Sourcing Specialist

Position Overview

The Sourcing Specialist will lead strategic initiatives aimed at reducing total landed cost, optimizing supplier spend, and improving resource utilization across the supply chain. This role will be responsible for executing sourcing events (RFQs, RFPs), driving supplier negotiations, and implementing cost reduction and continuous improvement strategies. Success in this role requires strong cross-functional collaboration with teams in Materials, Operations, Engineering, and Finance.


Key Responsibilities

Sourcing & Supplier Management

  • Manage a portfolio of suppliers to drive cost savings and negotiate favorable pricing, terms, and conditions that support total cost of ownership (TCO) goals.
  • Lead sourcing events (RFQs, RFPs) to identify cost reduction opportunities and support new product development initiatives.
  • Maintain proactive communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery, quality compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with key suppliers and internal teams to assess performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Implement sourcing best practices to enhance supplier reliability, reduce waste, and improve supply chain resilience.
  • Utilize data analytics to support strategic sourcing decisions and optimize material management processes.

Operations & Financial Collaboration

  • Partner with Operations, Quality, and Materials teams to ensure consistent material availability and resolve supply-related issues promptly.
  • Work closely with Finance and Treasury to ensure compliance with company policies related to accounts payable and procurement procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain roles.
  • Experience with international trade is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with MRP/ERP systems and inventory management practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive results.
  • Collaborative leadership style with a focus on continuous improvement.
