Staff Engineer II
Position Summary
A leading manufacturing organization is seeking a Staff Engineer II to provide technical leadership across multiple facilities. This role will support capital projects, process improvements, equipment upgrades, and operational initiatives aimed at improving safety, quality, reliability, and cost performance.
The successful candidate will serve as a technical resource for manufacturing operations, managing projects from concept through implementation while collaborating with internal teams, contractors, and external engineering partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support for manufacturing and operational teams.
- Lead and manage capital and maintenance projects, including planning, design, budgeting, execution, and startup activities.
- Develop engineering drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project documentation.
- Support capital planning and facility improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes and recommend practical engineering solutions.
- Coordinate project activities with contractors, consultants, utilities, and regulatory authorities as needed.
- Ensure projects meet safety, environmental, quality, budget, and schedule requirements.
- Conduct troubleshooting and support implementation of process and equipment improvements.
- Prepare reports, analyses, and project presentations for leadership and stakeholders.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while working independently and within cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related engineering discipline. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of engineering experience within a manufacturing, industrial, process, or design engineering environment.
- Experience managing capital projects and equipment-related initiatives.
- Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with contractors, consulting engineers, and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and CAD software such as AutoCAD or similar platforms.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the United States (up to 80%).
