Role Overview:
As a Tool Maker, you'll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and restoring a wide range of injection molds used across the facility. This is a critical, technically skilled position focused on keeping tooling in optimal condition-perfect for someone who takes pride in diagnostics, craftsmanship, and problem‑solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed maintenance, cleaning, and repair of injection molds and related tooling.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues involving mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
- Evaluate wear, damage, and functional issues, recommending and performing appropriate repair actions.
- Operate manual machining equipment, including mills, lathes, grinders, and EDMs, to complete precise repairs and component fabrication.
- Use precision measurement tools (micrometers, indicators, comparators, microscopes, etc.) to verify accuracy and ensure mold integrity.
- Maintain accurate documentation for repairs, service history, and preventive maintenance.
- Uphold strong safety, quality, and housekeeping standards within the tool room.
Required Qualifications:
- 4-6+ years of experience working with injection molding tools.
- Machining school certification
- High School diploma or college degree
- Strong background in a tool room environment-building, maintaining, or refurbishing molds.
- CAD experience (SolidWorks) preferred.
