Position Title: Vice President, Engineering and Automation
Role Summary
The VP of Engineering and Automation is a senior technical leader responsible for driving advanced engineering initiatives across process and equipment development. This role oversees the design and integration of manual to fully automated systems into manufacturing, with a focus on medical device production.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering teams in developing compliant manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Oversee prototyping, tooling, and fixture development.
- Collaborate with external partners for design, development, and manufacturing.
- Align engineering activities with strategic manufacturing goals.
- Manage project risks, budgets, and resource planning.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and internal quality procedures.
- Communicate effectively across departments and with stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
- 15+ years in medical device process/equipment development.
- 10+ years in leadership roles.
- Experience with FDA, ISO 13485, and ISO 14971 compliance.
- Strong technical leadership and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
- Advanced degree or trades background.
- Experience managing engineering teams and external partners.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks and discrete device manufacturing.
