Hours

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Monday-Friday, On-Site)


Compensation

We are committed to providing competitive, equitable compensation and maintaining transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $87,758 - $116,285.

Actual compensation will be based on factors such as experience, performance, technical expertise, and education. This role is also eligible for participation in an annual incentive plan, subject to eligibility guidelines.


Join Our Team as a Welding Engineer II

We are seeking a driven and technically skilled Welding Engineer II to support and lead welding-related initiatives within Manufacturing Engineering. This role offers the opportunity to work across a wide range of projects, including welding procedure development, automation, quality improvement, and cost-reduction efforts.

The ideal candidate is a motivated problem-solver with a strong foundation in welding technologies and manufacturing processes, and a proven ability to drive projects from concept through implementation. This position reports directly to Manufacturing Engineering leadership.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support welding and fabrication projects using advanced industry techniques, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Develop and validate welding procedures through hands-on testing, including visual, non-destructive, and destructive methods
  • Create and maintain welding documentation such as WPS, quality standards, and work instructions
  • Set up and program automated and robotic welding systems, with the ability to learn platforms such as Cloos and Fanuc
  • Update manufacturing documentation and systems (BOMs, routings, prints, machine programs) in response to engineering changes
  • Drive structured problem-solving initiatives using methodologies such as A3 and Four-Step Problem Solving
  • Lead the evaluation and implementation of new welding technologies and capital equipment investments
  • Provide day-to-day technical support to resolve production floor issues
  • Collaborate effectively across teams, including internal stakeholders and external suppliers
  • Communicate clearly and effectively through reports, presentations, and team discussions
  • Support organizational goals and demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous improvement and teamwork
  • Promote a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative work environment
  • Adapt quickly to change and contribute to ongoing process and performance improvements

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Welding Technology, or a related engineering field
  • 3+ years of experience in welding fabrication and manufacturing environments
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes including GMAW, GTAW, RSW, and stud welding
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and CAD drawings, including GD&T
  • Familiarity with robotic welding systems and programming
  • Solid understanding of welding equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred:

  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Welding Engineer (CWEng)
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Proficiency in data analysis using tools such as Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with robotic programming software (e.g., Roboplan)
  • Working knowledge of CAD design software

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Primarily desk-based with occasional movement across manufacturing areas
  • Periodic physical activity including walking, climbing, and operating equipment
  • Exposure to manufacturing environments, including noise, machinery, and industrial conditions
  • Occasional travel may be required, including overnight or international trips
