An established food manufacturer is seeking a Plant Manager to lead operations at a high-volume production facility. This role will have full responsibility for plant performance, including production, maintenance, quality, safety, cost management, and employee development.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on manufacturing leader with a proven track record of driving operational excellence, building strong teams, and delivering results in a food or consumer products manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership for plant operations, including production, packaging, maintenance, and quality functions.
- Lead and develop a team of managers, supervisors, and production personnel while promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Drive production performance to meet customer demand, operational targets, and business objectives.
- Develop staffing, production, and resource plans to optimize efficiency and maximize plant performance.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, regulatory, and company standards.
- Manage plant budgets, control operating costs, and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
- Partner with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to support business growth and operational success.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives focused on waste reduction, productivity gains, and process optimization.
- Monitor key performance indicators and use data-driven decision making to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
- Prior experience leading operations within food, bakery, consumer packaged goods, or co-manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, quality systems, food safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven ability to lead large teams and develop front-line and mid-level leaders.
- Experience managing budgets, operational metrics, and plant performance.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- ERP experience preferred; SAP experience is a plus.
