Title: Product Manager - Industrial Automation (Variable Frequency Drives)
Salary: $120,000-$150,000 + Bonus
Company Summary: A global manufacturer of industrial automation and power management solutions is seeking a Product Manager to lead strategy and growth for its Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) product portfolio. The company serves customers across industrial manufacturing, HVAC, water/wastewater, food & beverage, material handling, oil & gas, and other automation-focused industries. Known for its engineering expertise and innovation, the organization provides solutions that help customers improve efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.
The Product Manager will be responsible for:
- Developing and executing product strategy, vision, and roadmap for the VFD product portfolio
- Managing the full product lifecycle from new product introduction through growth, migration, and end-of-life planning
- Conducting market research, competitive analysis, and voice-of-customer initiatives to identify opportunities for growth
- Partnering closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and channel teams to drive product adoption and market penetration
- Developing go-to-market strategies, pricing structures, and sales enablement tools
- Identifying new business opportunities, target markets, and strategic partnerships
- Serving as the subject matter expert for customers, distributors, and internal stakeholders
- Supporting trade shows, customer visits, training programs, and promotional activities
- Forecasting long-term revenue growth and supporting regional business planning
- Monitoring industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies within industrial automation
The Product Manager should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- 5+ years of product management experience within industrial automation, motion control, drives, or related technologies
- Strong knowledge of VFDs, motor control systems, and industrial automation applications
- Experience working with products serving industries such as HVAC, water/wastewater, food & beverage, packaging, material handling, or oil & gas
- Ability to translate customer needs into product strategy and commercial success
- Strong business acumen with experience supporting pricing, market analysis, and growth initiatives
- Effective presentation and communication skills with both technical and commercial audiences
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to travel approximately 20-40%
