Senior Digital IC System Architect (M/F/D)
We are looking for an experienced Digital IC Systems Architect to develop advanced mixed-signal SoC solutions for customer applications. You will translate high-level customer requirements into robust SoC architectures. You will evaluate different IPs and technologies, define digital micro-architectures and help ensure solutions meet the required performance, power and chip-area targets. This is a highly technical, customer-facing position suited to someone with strong experience across digital IC design, SoC architecture and mixed-signal semiconductor development.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate high-level customer requirements into digital IC and SoC architectures
- Define appropriate micro-architectures and hardware specifications
- Evaluate and select IPs including CPUs, GPUs, DSPs, memories, accelerators and custom IP
- Determine how different IP blocks can be combined to meet system-level requirements
- Model, analyse and optimise system performance
- Identify and resolve architectural performance bottlenecks
- Develop solutions within defined power consumption and chip-area constraints
- Recommend appropriate IC technologies and architectural approaches
- Collaborate with analogue IC architects and software engineers to create complete mixed-signal SoC solutions
- Engage directly with customers to understand technical requirements and present proposed solutions
- Support sales teams with technical expertise during customer discussions
- Work with delivery and engineering teams to introduce new digital micro-architectures
- Support implementation across SystemVerilog, RTL verification, design verification, physical design and DFT/validation
- Identify technical risks and communicate potential issues that could impact customer requirements, quality or delivery
Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of experience in digital IC design and/or SoC system architecture
- Strong experience architecting advanced digital or mixed-signal SoCs
- Hands-on Verilog and SystemVerilog experience
- Strong understanding of CPU and DSP architectures
- Experience evaluating and integrating semiconductor IP
- Good understanding of mixed-signal system architecture
- Experience with relevant EDA tools for IC development
- Broad understanding of the semiconductor developmentlifecycle, including:
- IC architecture and design
- Physical design
- Semiconductor manufacturing
- Packaging and assembly
- Testing and validation
- Familiarity with automotive functional safety / ASIL
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify technical issues proactively
- Excellent technical communication and customer-facing skills
- Ability to work effectively across architecture, engineering, software, sales and customer teams
- Fluent written and spoken EnglishEducation
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Microelectronics, IC Design or a closely related discipline
- 7+ years of relevant industry experience in digital IC design and system/SoC architecture
