Senior Strategic Sourcing Analyst
The Senior Strategic Sourcing Analyst is responsible for leading sourcing and procurement activities that support manufacturing operations. This role manages supplier relationships, negotiates commercial agreements, analyzes spend and market data, and drives initiatives focused on cost reduction, supplier performance, and supply continuity. The position partners closely with manufacturing, planning, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure materials and services are sourced effectively while supporting business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing and purchasing activities across multiple spend categories.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to support quality, service, delivery, and cost objectives.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms with suppliers.
- Monitor and manage supplier performance through scorecards, business reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify and execute cost savings, cost avoidance, and value improvement opportunities.
- Analyze spend data, market conditions, and supplier capabilities to support sourcing strategies and business decisions.
- Collaborate with planning, operations, and manufacturing teams to support inventory management and uninterrupted supply.
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems to support purchasing activities, reporting, and procurement processes.
- Drive process improvements and standardization within procurement and sourcing functions.
- Support supplier qualification, risk management, and relationship management initiatives.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced buyers and procurement team members.
- Manage multiple sourcing projects and priorities simultaneously while meeting business deadlines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, purchasing, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience leading supplier negotiations and managing supplier performance across multiple categories.
- Experience sourcing materials, components, packaging, services, or other categories supporting manufacturing operations.
- Strong understanding of procurement principles, inventory management, forecasting, and supply planning.
- Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems and procurement reporting tools.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data and make informed sourcing recommendations.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and manage multiple projects effectively.
- Experience mentoring, training, or providing guidance to junior buyers or procurement professionals.
- Strong communication, organizational, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
