The Shift Supervisor will be responsible for…
- Directing shift operations across fuel-processing, high-pressure boiler, steam turbine, and electrical-generation systems
- Monitoring plant performance and troubleshooting operational or equipment issues
- Leading, training, and developing shift personnel within a safety-focused environment
- Coordinating maintenance activities and approving equipment clearances, isolations, and safety permits
- Directing the response to plant upsets, equipment failures, and emergency situations
- Ensuring compliance with environmental permits, safety standards, and operating procedures
- Maintaining accurate shift records and communicating operational concerns across departments
- Supporting continuous-improvement projects focused on plant reliability, performance, and efficiency
The Shift Supervisor should have the following qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts Second Class Engineer License
- 3+ years of supervisory or engineering experience within power generation, utilities, resource recovery, marine engineering, or heavy industry
- Hands-on experience with high-pressure boilers, steam turbines, and electrical-generating equipment
- Experience leading operators within a continuous-process or 24/7 plant environment
- Strong knowledge of equipment isolation, maintenance clearances, safety permitting, and lockout/tagout procedures
- Ability to troubleshoot operational issues and lead an effective emergency response
- Willingness to work an on-site rotating shift schedule
- Ability to work at heights, enter confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds, and wear a full-face respirator when required
