Our client is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Buyer/Planner to optimize supply chain operations across global manufacturing and distribution sites. This role demands strong analytical skills, ERP proficiency, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure timely procurement, cost efficiency, and supplier performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze procurement data, inventory trends, and supplier performance to guide purchasing decisions.
- Manage end-to-end procurement processes: ordering, acknowledgements, delivery tracking, and ensuring on-time material availability.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and logistics teams to align supply with operational needs.
- Lead program launches and projects focused on resourcing, cost savings, vendor compliance, and lead time reduction.
- Proactively identify and resolve supply chain risks using data-driven insights.
- Maintain accurate ERP records (e.g., purchase orders, vendor data, pricing).
- Evaluate change requests to support strategic sourcing and customer demands.
- Drive continuous improvement in procurement practices and inventory turnover.
- Resolve supplier issues, BOM errors, and coordinate cost recovery with quality, engineering, and accounting teams.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry regulations.
- Align inventory targets with company goals and customer expectations.
- Analyze data to support raw material supply and finished goods demand.
- Report on production progress, WIP, and raw material inventory.
- Use data visualization tools to provide regular updates to senior leadership.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of procurement/supply chain experience in manufacturing/distribution.
- ERP system proficiency (SAP, Oracle, JDE, Epicor).
- Skilled in Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong understanding of demand planning and forecasting.
- Excellent analytical, communication, negotiation, and time management skills.
- APICS, CPM, or similar certifications are a plus.
