Position Overview

An exciting executive-level opportunity to lead all indirect procurement and supplier strategy for a $350M+ U.S. spend portfolio. This individual will act as the procurement general manager for the U.S. business and serve as the strategic partner to the regional leadership team. The role is responsible for delivering significant bottom-line impact (4-5% annual savings) through world-class sourcing, contract management, and supplier innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Serve as the commercial custodian of all U.S. indirect third-party spend ($350M+).

  • Deliver $14M-$17M in annual productivity improvements.

  • Align regional sourcing initiatives with global category strategies and local business needs.

  • Act as the sourcing business partner to the U.S. President and Executive Leadership Team.

Team Development & Leadership

  • Manage a team of 3-4 procurement professionals and sourcing managers (with growth forecasted).

  • Establish operational standards and performance culture across the team.

  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and career development for team members.

Sourcing Strategy & Execution

  • Translate business strategy into actionable procurement plans.

  • Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis and supplier performance benchmarking.

  • Implement global sourcing programs in the U.S. with appropriate localization for regulatory and commercial needs.

Stakeholder & Supplier Engagement

  • Lead negotiations on complex, multi-year, performance-based contracts.

  • Develop strategic supplier relationships and initiate value creation programs.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, and Business Unit Leaders to execute sourcing decisions.


Preferred Candidate Profile

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or management consulting.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing teams or leading cross-functional initiatives.

  • Track record of greenfield operations or working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.

Expertise

  • Indirect procurement expertise, including General & Administrative (G&A), Commercial/Marketing categories.

  • Deep understanding of market dynamics, supplier cost structures, and category levers.

  • Proven success leading large-scale programs and implementing supplier agreements.

Leadership & Communication

  • Strong business acumen and financial modeling skills.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with senior stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead in matrixed, global organizations.

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Skilled in procurement tools and ERP systems (e.g., e-procurement platforms).

  • Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint for business case development and presentations.

  • Strong analytical mindset with ability to extract and communicate strategic insights from data.
