Greater Philadelphia - Hybrid 3x a week

Compensation: $100,000 - $120,000 + bonus

A leading manufacturer is looking for a Category Manager who will have a raw materials annual spend ranging up to $150M across multiple categories. This person will help define and maintain a purchasing strategy, manage communication between company and suppliers, and ultimately manage the spend impacting the business. This role will also handle business issues that arise, help mitigate risks, negotiate with suppliers and vendors, and ensure a consistent supply of materials. The Category Manager will be responsible for:

  • Create, maintain, & present to management team the strategy, provide monthly recommendations for directions with suppliers, for our manufacturing sites & future commitments
  • Manages the key raw material categories across the team
  • Work with R&D for cost savings opportunities, risk mitigation, and New Product Development initiatives
  • Implement formal supply agreements / contracts with all key suppliers
  • Identify, lead, and implement projects with suppliers to increase end customer value and/or reduce costs
  • Lead RFP's and supplier negotiations and contract implementation

The Category Manager should have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Business-related field (Business, Supply Chain, Finance) or equivalent experience in the required field
  • 4+ years of experience in Purchasing, Strategic Sourcing, Procurement ideally in manufacturing
  • Comfortable in MS Office (senior level PowerPoint Presentation)
  • Strong communication skills (will be negotiating with suppliers & Vendors and working heavily with other functions in the business

This is a full-time permanent position that is primarily based in the greater Philly area. It will require at least 3x days onsite after probationary period.
