The Opportunity
As Business Development Manager - Air & Ocean, you will play a key role in expanding the company's footprint in the Dutch market. This is a purely commercial role focused on winning new business, expanding strategic accounts, and positioning a full suite of air and ocean freight solutions to customers operating internationally.
You will be trusted to run your territory like a business: identifying opportunities, opening doors at senior level, and shaping long-term partnerships across industries such as manufacturing, chemicals, retail, and industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, target, and secure new air and ocean freight customers in the Netherlands
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of qualified prospects, from SME to multinational level
- Lead customer meetings, solution design, pricing, and contract negotiations
- Work closely with operations and product teams to ensure commercially sound and executable solutions
- Develop long-term relationships with key decision-makers and influencers
- Represent the company at industry events, networking forums, and client meetings
- Maintain accurate forecasting and reporting through CRM tools
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in business development or sales within air and/or ocean freight forwarding
- Strong understanding of international trade, Incoterms, and freight solutions
- A hunter mentality with the credibility to sell complex logistics solutions
- Existing network within the Dutch logistics or shipper market is highly valued
- Commercially sharp, self-driven, and comfortable working with autonomy
- Fluent in English; Dutch is a strong advantage
