Business Development Manager - Air & Ocean Freight
Role Overview
Location: Dorval, Quebec, H9S 5J9
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, developing, and managing new and existing business opportunities within air and ocean freight services. This role focuses on building long-term customer relationships, expanding market presence, and delivering tailored logistics solutions. -
Particular vertical emphasis on Retail/FMCG, Automotive, Industrial, Healthcare, and High Tech, with air and ocean freight playing a critical role for:
- Cross‑border US-Canada trade
- Transpacific and transatlantic lanes
- Project and time‑critical logistics
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities in air and ocean freight
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and qualification to negotiation and contract closure
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders
- Create customized freight and supply chain solutions aligned with customer needs
- Collaborate with operations, pricing, and customer service teams to ensure seamless execution
- Prepare and present sales proposals, RFQs, and pricing strategies
- Meet or exceed revenue, volume, and gross profit targets
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform strategy
- Maintain accurate pipeline activity and forecasts using CRM tools
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of business development or sales experience in air and ocean freight
- Strong understanding of international trade, Incoterms, and freight forwarding operations
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets
- Established industry network and client relationships
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, target-driven environment

Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience with key verticals such as retail, consumer goods, industrial, or F&B
