Job Description: Controls Technician

Compensation: $25-50/ hour + overtime

Location: Dayton, Ohio

Shift: 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM (2-2-3 rotating schedule, every other weekend off)

Overview

This role supports a state-of-the-art nutrition manufacturing facility, focused on enhancing production efficiency and product quality. The technician will work closely with operations and engineering teams to support electrical hardware, control systems, software, and industrial vision systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for electrical hardware, control systems, and industrial vision systems.
  • Support new product introductions, equipment start-ups, and process optimizations.
  • Monitor production and troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
  • Execute validation activities and ensure compliance with plant policies.
  • Lead small project teams and support larger programs.
  • Develop and maintain preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Partner with external suppliers and internal teams to manage spare parts and documentation.
  • Develop and review Lock Out Tag Out procedures in collaboration with EHS.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, OSHA, and internal policies.

Schedule Example

Week 1: Work - Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday | Off - Wednesday, Thursday

Week 2: Work - Wednesday, Thursday | Off - Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma.
  • 2+ years of technical trade experience or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting, electrical troubleshooting, and process instrumentation.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Self-starter with a high standard for organization and workmanship.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment
