A hedge fund in the NYC area is seeking to expand their Data Sourcing team by hiring a Data Sourcing Associate in the New York City area. Please see details below:
Role: Data Sourcing Associate
Work Model: on-site 4 days a week in NYC office
Responsibilities:
- Identify and evaluate datasets relevant to Fixed Income strategies (rates, credit, FX, structured products, derivatives).
- Monitor the data landscape to surface emerging vendors and high‑potential data sources.
- Manage vendor relationships, including pricing, contracts, renewals, and audits.
- Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, and Procurement to ensure proper licensing and regulatory alignment.
- Support cost allocation, usage tracking, and budget management.
- Oversee end‑to‑end dataset onboarding with Technology and Data Engineering teams.
- Ensure data quality, documentation, and metadata standards.
- Track dataset usage and performance to inform renewals and optimization.
- Act as a liaison between external data providers and internal Fixed Income teams.
- Support front‑office teams with ad hoc data and vendor inquiries.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.
- 3-7 years of experience in data sourcing, market data, or vendor management, ideally within Fixed Income.
- Buy‑side or hedge fund experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of Fixed Income markets and instruments.
- Experience with alternative data is a plus.
