As the company continues to expand, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) to lead safety and compliance initiatives across all operations.
In this pivotal role, you will develop and execute comprehensive EHS programs that ensure regulatory compliance, mitigate risk, and foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout our manufacturing, research, and distribution facilities.
The Director of Environmental Health and Safety will be responsible for:
- Lead strategic EHS initiatives tailored to pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
- Ensure full compliance with FDA, OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other regulatory bodies.
- Oversee handling of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), hazardous chemicals, and waste disposal.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement proactive safety protocols for cleanrooms, labs, and production areas.
- Develop and deliver specialized EHS training for pharmaceutical processes and equipment.
- Investigate incidents, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor EHS KPIs and drive continuous improvement across all sites.
- Collaborate with quality, engineering, and operations to integrate EHS into process design and GMP compliance.
- Manage audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting.
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and external auditors.
The Director of Environmental Health and Safety will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive EHS experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role within pharmaceutical or life sciences manufacturing.
- Deep understanding of pharmaceutical safety standards, hazardous materials, and industrial hygiene.
- Experience with GMP, cleanroom protocols, and regulatory inspections.
