The Director of Safety responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement enterprise-wide safety programs across retail, corporate, and distribution locations, including policies, training, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with OSHA and other federal, state, and local safety standards through inspections, audits, and coordination with agencies.
  • Lead and manage a team of safety professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to promote a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.
  • Analyze safety data and trends to identify risks and improvement opportunities, presenting strategic insights and performance reports to senior leadership.
  • Oversee incident investigations and workers' compensation processes, ensuring timely resolution and implementation of corrective actions.

The SHE Specialist should have the following qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in safety management within retail, distribution, or warehouse environments, including 5+ years in leadership roles.
  • Deep understanding of OSHA standards and other relevant federal, state, and local safety regulations, especially those applicable to retail and warehouse operations.
  • Ability to interpret safety data, conduct root cause analyses, and develop effective corrective action plans and strategic safety initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead safety teams, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, including executive leadership.
