Formulation Chemist III - Firefighting Foam Development
Overview:
Seeking an experienced Formulation Chemist to lead R&D efforts in developing fluorine-free firefighting foams for Class A and B fires.This role involves creating innovative surfactant-based formulations, supporting product scale-up, and collaborating across departments to advance fire protection technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and improve firefighting foam formulations.
- Conduct lab research, testing, and data analysis.
- Document procedures, results, and technical reports.
- Support product trials, scale-up, and technology transfer.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and cross-functional teams.
- Provide technical support and resolve product quality issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Qualifications:
- BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (Master's/PhD preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in surfactant-based product formulation (fire protection, HI&I, cosmetics, or related industries).
- Strong lab, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Minitab.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to travel (10%) and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work Environment: Includes lab and manufacturing settings; may require occasional after-hours or weekend work.
