Role Overview
The Lean Manager is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation by implementing Lean Management principles and Operational Excellence methodologies. The role focuses on improving efficiency, quality, cost, and delivery performance while embedding a sustainable continuous improvement culture across all levels of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and implement Lean Management principles and tools, including 5S, value stream mapping, Kaizen, standard work, KPI systems, and waste reduction (7+1 wastes).
- Drive continuous improvement and productivity initiatives across operations, logistics, and support functions.
- Coach and support managers and employees in the practical application of Lean methodologies and problem‑solving tools.
- Plan, design, and facilitate Lean workshops, Kaizen events, and improvement programs independently.
- Monitor and support the execution of Operational Excellence and Lean strategies in close alignment with site and functional leadership.
- Ensure sustainability and long‑term effectiveness of implemented Lean tools, standards, and process improvements.
- Track, analyse, and report performance metrics and KPIs, ensuring transparency and measurable impact.
- Promote a strong continuous improvement culture and act as a change agent across the organisation.
- Document, communicate, and share best practices, lessons learned, and improvement outcomes across sites or departments.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Proven experience in Lean Management, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence within manufacturing, logistics, or industrial environments.
- Six Sigma certification (Yellow Belt, Green Belt or Black Belt) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Lean tools and methodologies (e.g. 5S, Kaizen, VSM, TPM, problem‑solving techniques).
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Strong analytical and data‑driven mindset, with experience working with KPIs and performance metrics.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and facilitation skills.
- Fluent German and English language skills
