Maintenance Manager

Overview:
A leading global manufacturer in the food industry is seeking a proactive and experienced Maintenance & Facilities Manager to oversee the reliability, safety, and efficiency of plant operations. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of equipment maintenance, utilities, and facility infrastructure, while leading a team of technicians and coordinating with external service providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimal downtime.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and utility systems including HVAC, boilers, compressors, refrigeration, and plumbing.
  • Manage facility upkeep including building systems, security, sanitation, and grounds maintenance.
  • Supervise the spare parts and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) inventory to ensure availability of critical components, cost control, and efficient procurement.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, GMP, HACCP).
  • Support capital planning and execution of facility improvement projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, TPM, and reliability engineering tools (e.g., RCA, PDCA, DMAIC).
  • Monitor energy usage and implement sustainability practices to reduce costs and environmental impact.
  • Develop and mentor maintenance staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Plan and schedule maintenance activities to align with production needs and minimize disruptions.
  • Manage departmental budgets and track maintenance-related expenditures.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in a technical field required; Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in maintenance or engineering roles within a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment and utility systems.
  • Experience in food manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and maintenance planning tools.
  • Familiarity with inventory control, vendor management, and procurement processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage projects, and drive operational excellence.
