Manufacturing Operations Manager (M/F/D)
Overview
We are partnering with a global leader in advanced semiconductor manufacturing to appoint an Operations / Production Manager at a strategically important site in Germany.
This role sits within a highly complex, high-precision manufacturing environment, where the focus is not just on maintaining output, but driving the industrialisation and scale-up of cutting-edge semiconductor technologies.
You will play a key role in bridging engineering, production, and supply chain, ensuring the organisation can meet growing demand while maintaining the highest standards of quality, yield, and operational efficiency.
This is a position with strong visibility, offering exposure to senior leadership and global manufacturing strategy within a rapidly scaling European footprint.
Responsibilities
Own manufacturing performance across a critical production area
- Deliver against targets for throughput, yield, cycle time, and quality
- Balance operational stability with ongoing product and process evolution
Drive operational excellence in a high-complexity environment
- Implement Lean and continuous improvement initiatives
- Identify and remove bottlenecks across production workflows
- Improve efficiency in a low-volume, high-value production setting
Support ramp-up and industrialisation activities
- Contribute to scaling production capacity for new and evolving technologies
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams during product introduction phases
Lead cross-functional collaboration
- Act as an interface between production, R&D, quality, and supply chain
- Ensure alignment on priorities, timelines, and performance targets
Develop and lead high-performing teams
- Manage, coach, and develop production and engineering teams
- Build capability to support future growth and increased complexity
Drive data-led decision making
- Use production data to improve yield, reduce defects, and optimise output
- Contribute to longer-term operational and capacity planning
Ideal Candidate
- Experience in complex, high-tech manufacturing environments, such as:
- Semiconductors, electronics, precision engineering, or similar
- Proven background in production or operations leadership
- Leading teams in technically demanding environments
- Strong understanding of:
- Lean manufacturing / continuous improvement
- Yield optimisation, quality systems, and process control
- Experience working in non-steady-state or scaling environments
- New product introduction, ramp-up, or industrialisation phases
- Ability to operate cross-functionally
- Particularly between engineering and operations
- Data-driven mindset with strong analytical capability
- Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders
